Birthday Coupon

On the first day of school, my students fill out a birthday coupon, which includes each student's name, birthday and favorite candy bars. If their birthday falls on a holiday or in the summer, they choose another day for their school birthday. On the morning of their birthday, they find a happy birthday pencil, nametag and their favorite candy bar on their desk. It's inexpensive and starts their day off with a big smile! I'm always amazed at how genuinely surprised they seem that I remembered!
