Checking Homework II
October 03, 2007
Along with my seating chart, I keep a can of checkers, each one marked with a number for every desk and student in the room. I use this can with every class to collect and review homework. I collect homework from only 3 or 4 students each class by randomly drawing checkers out of the can. Then I go over the answers by calling on the rest of the class using the remaining checkers. This method saves time because I check homework for correctness, not effort. It also keeps the students attentive, because they never know when they are going to be called upon.
