Fast & Easy Tracking

Keeping track of completed assignments took too much time, so I found a quick and easy way to do it. When it's time for students to turn in an assignment, I make sure that I get something from everyone. If they don't have their assignment, they must write 'I did not turn in my assignment' and sign their name on a sheet of notebook paper. These statements are turned in and used as future proof, so no one can blame the teacher for misplacing an assignment. The key is to get something from every student.

Love it! I've been teaching for a long time! Great Idea!

Stuart, check out the conversations on our message board -- could be a good place to find an answer to your question. https://public-groups.nea.org/discussion/forum/show/94573

Your idea is a good one. Paper being in limited supply is my biggest concern. I am going to try it. Thanks for the tip

As a current student, I never considered this as a potential problem, but I can see how a student could easily insist that you must have lost his work! What a great tip. I will surely add to my list of class management ideas!

What do you do about uncooperative students which is quite common in inner city middle and high scbools?
