Several years ago my class planted the top from a fresh pineapple that we had eaten. After seven years, that pineapple tree produced a pineapple. Those students came back to my class and ate their pineapple. Then, my class at that time planted the top of that pineapple. Now, five years later, we have a new pineapple growing. So pineapples do grow in West Virginia!
