Inexpensive Boarders
September 15, 2004
After fourteen plus years of teaching and purchasing nearly all of the bulletin board border patterns available (not to mention going broke in the process), I came up with the answer to expensive borders. I go to a dollar store or other discount stores and buy their cheap rolls of decorative or theme wrapping paper. I look for those that do not say Happy Birthday, Anniversary, or Baby Shower. I buy several rolls of different patterns and I laminate the paper. Once laminated, I cut the paper into desired widths and/or lengths and border my bulletin boards. They last a long time. I've shared this idea with new and veteran teachers, and they love it. Sometimes we even swap borders since they're so inexpensive to make.
