Keeping Track of Notes

Found in: paperwork; routines & procedures

To help sixth graders keep handouts and other papers I gave them for their binders, I asked them to bring in a green folder (we color code our subjects - green for science). I copied the notes, collated, and stapled them into packets. I did the same for class work. No one has lost a folder because I keep the folders in bins in the back of the room according to class period.

Students pass out the folders daily. If someone doesn't get theirs back it's usually because they walked out with it the previous day. Before a quiz or a test, we have 'Transfer Day' which is when the packet gets transferred into the green science binder in the appropriate section for them to use as a review. This is usually after it's filled in with answers. No more lost papers!
