Math Modeling with White Boards

Found in: math; whiteboards

Working in groups, my physics students put preliminary graphs and the math model of data for a problem on 24 X 32 inch white boards. A student from each group explains the experiment results and responds to questions. I assign selected problems from homework to be put on 12-inch square white boards and students take turns explaining their assigned problems. By asking questions during their presentations, I have uncovered misconceptions even when the written solutions appeared correct.
