In my peer support class, we often discuss how often we receive negative feedback from others and how infrequently we are complimented. I devised a business-sized laminated card with an eye and the words 'Caught You Being Good' on one side. On the other side it reads, 'Redeem this card in room C-1.' Each of the peer support providers in class receives cards. Whenever they witness someone on campus doing a good deed, they hand them a card. Good deeds are any form of random acts of kindness. When students come in to redeem their cards, I ask them why they received the card, shake their hand and tell them to keep up these acts of kindness. They are pleasantly surprised when I hand them an ice cream bar. This program really enhances our campus climate.
