On the first day of school, I pass out a teacher test. I ask them questions such as,

  • How long has Mrs. La Masa been teaching?
  • How many children does she have?
  • What is her favorite pet?
  • Where does she like to go for a vacation?
  • What subject does she like to teach the most?

The kids write their guesses, then I orally provide the answers and the class learns a lot about me.
