Teens & Tweens in the Community
June 18, 2003
We are working on a program locally to get teens and tweens involved in the community. One area is to match up computer savvy kids with elderly and disabled neighbors who could use their knowledge to learn how to use the Internet and email to stay in touch with the world and family. The second thing is to find local projects in which kids can get involved. We have shifted away from 'What do you want to do?' on to 'What can you do?' and now to 'What you can do!' Teens are not little kids any longer, but nor are they grown up. They still hold on to their innocence while reaching for their future. Bottom line is that they want to fit in and unless we provide them a way to do so, gangs and drugs will.
