Third Tile

I have my students walk on the 3rd tile from the wall. This keeps the line straight, and the students have a reference point of where they need to be. When the line is not straight all I say is, '3rd tile,' 'check your feet,' or just hold up three fingers. Using the 3rd tile also teaches the students mathematical concepts of geometry, measurement, and ordinal numbers.
