Unlocking Anxiety

Many upper elementary students have a lot of anxiety about moving on to middle school. Dealing with lockers is a big part of that anxiety. I take a combination lock and hang it on a closet door with the combination taped nearby. Students who finish their class work practice on my lock. By the end of the year, all of my students are comfortable using a combination lock.
