Velcro also works great on desks for name tags. Laminate your name tags first. Put fuzzy side on desk. You can remove the tag easily for desk cleaning. Papers and notes can be slipped under them so they won't blow away.

The velcro dots that teachers use are better to deal with then staples, clear tape and hot glue left behind in the rooms I paint. Your idea is something I don't see alot of painting rooms. I think you may have a good in the works.

The rolls of velcro are great too and may be a little cheaper if you put up many things. I use them for posters, word walls, cursive letter strip, etc. I put the soft side on the wall so when the custodians clean over the summer, they can wipe right over them. If they need to come down, they do so without removing the paint.
