Book vs. Movie vs. Mind

I like to show the movie version of novels we have read and have the students look for similarities and differences. We sometimes use a Venn diagram to take notes during the film and then discuss how our imaginations matched those of the filmmakers. Many students will find they like their own “versions” of the novel better. And best of all, this activity gets them excited about reading!
