Now that the last round of testing is completed, we can focus on some fun aspects of school like art and music. My class just completed a fun (and messy) art project. We wrote cinquain poems about our favorite animals and created an art project in the style of children’s book author and illustrator Eric Carle.

First, we divided the class into groups to paint the main color of each page. A day later, the students went back and added splashes, stripes and swirls in second and third colors. Then, they painted their background (sky and land) on a large poster board. Finally, they cut out their animal and its habitat from the painted papers they had made. The pictures came out really cute and everyone had a great time!
