One, Simple Classroom Rule
June 21, 2011
At the beginning of the new school year, decide which classroom rules are most important to you, and make sure you communicate those rules clearly to your students. I have only one rule: The classroom is a place where teaching and learning happens. Nobody is allowed to behave in a manner that prevents those two things from occurring. Take some time to plan out classroom procedures like, collecting papers, passing papers back to students, lining up, restroom breaks, and asking questions. The more organized you are at the beginning of the year, the easier your life will be.
