Take Action

Tell the Department of Education that you support the proposed Title IX Rule to Prevent Sex Discrimination and Sex-Based Harassment today.

On the 50th anniversary of the landmark civil rights law, Title IX, the Department of Education announced proposed regulations to help fulfill the promise of Title IX. The proposed rule will help ensure that all students have the opportunity to learn, regardless of sex, sexual orientation, or gender identity.

The proposed rule makes important changes to the previous administration’s rules by strengthening protections against sexual harassment and making it easier to hold schools accountable if they allow a hostile environment to go unchecked. It would also require schools to have procedures for addressing all claims of sex discrimination.

The proposed rule also clarifies and strengthens protections for pregnant students and educators -- who deserve support and accommodation, no matter their race, background, or zip code.

Join us in standing up for students and educators by adding your support for the Department of Education’s restoration of Title IX’s protections.

Use our letter as inspiration, and add your reasons for supporting these changes, too. Take a moment to explain what this change will mean to you, your students, or your school community.
