Rep. Grijalva Talks with Arizona Educators at NEA Tele-Town Hall
On Thursday, October 18, the Arizona Education Association and NEA hosted a successful tele-townhall meeting with Representative Raul Grijalva (D) from Arizona’s 7th district. Educators from the new District 3 were invited to participate as well as those in Grijalva’s current District 7.
A range of issues were discussed, from ESEA reauthorization to school funding and college affordability. Grijalva also remarked on what he feels are the most effective ways to improve public education in Arizona.
Joe Thomas, Vice President of the Arizona Education Association, led the call and helped ensure the topics addressed were those that are most important to Arizona educators. Participants were polled on the issue of ESEA reauthorization and asked to indicate what they think are the most important changes needed for NCLB.
