Rainforest Alliance offers a hands-on, cross-curricular School Curriculum for students in grades PreK-8 as well as Kids’ Corner, a collection of information, resources, and activities about rainforests.
The School Curriculum is organized by grade and includes a Climate Educator Guide. The guide’s five activities (PDFs) can be downloaded separately or as a group. In addition, Resources for Teachers are provided for each grade. Webinars are also available for teachers.
In If the Forest Could Talk, a lesson for grade 3, students learn that because insects are pollinators for plants, they are essential parts of all ecosystems.
Kids’ Corner has resources that can be used online or downloaded and printed for the classroom.
Rainforests Around The World features six virtual rainforest visits in Central America and Brazil. They can be viewed as slideshows or downloaded as PDFs.
A trio of Online Games lets students trek through a rainforest's many layers, track where some of our most popular foods come from, and explore the Rainforest Alliance Treehouse to learn about rainforest plants, animals and people.
A library of seven Virtual Storybooks available in English, Spanish, and Portuguese gives students and understanding of what life would be like if your backyard was a rainforest.
Forest Facts answer FAQs about rainforests and the plants and animals that live in them.
Plant & Animal Facts supplies species profiles on amphibians, birds, insects, mammals, plants, and reptiles.
Activities include coloring pages and experiments, crafts, and quizzes.
