Aspiring Educators - Distance Learner Membership

NEA’s Aspiring Educators are the leading voice for the next generation of educators. If you are a Distance Learner and would like to join, follow the directions below.
Published: August 26, 2020

Thank you for your inquiry on joining or renewing your membership in the National Education Association. Liability Insurance is a benefit of membership.

You are a Distance Learner if you are NOT enrolled in a university where you physically attend classes for a degree program leading to a teaching degree, but ONLY take such classes through an online connection to an accredited higher education institution. In this case, select the state where you reside and then, on the enrollment form, choose your distance learning institution.

If you take courses online AND also are enrolled in a higher education institution that you attend in person, please choose the state where this institution is located, i.e. where you attend classes.

If you are a distance learner attending Walden University, Western Governors University, or University of Phoenix, please follow the instructions below.
