Grants and Programs for NEA Student Members

Is your NEA Student Program interested in a special project to recruit more members or sponsoring a community service project? We have grants available to help you pay for these events. Funding decisions will be based on the quality of the application (grant applications are not guaranteed to be funded). Please read the Grants Handbook thoroughly before submitting an application. The handbook provides a wealth of information about project ideas as well as details about application requirements:

Please use the individual application coversheets below. You may write directly in these forms and save a copy to submit with your application narrative.

Your chapter can apply for up to $1,000 to fund your local community outreach efforts. Application deadlines: First semester, August 31; Second semester, November 30.

SOAR Grant

These grants encourage and support NEA Student program members in their efforts to recruit new members or organize a student chapter.

Outreach to Teach

NEA Student Program members each year join retired educators, education support professionals, and active teachers in Outreach to Teach, a program to clean up a local school in the host city of NEA's Representative Assembly.

Jack Kinnaman Scholarship

The Jack Kinnaman Scholarship offsets the tuition of an NEA student member. It was created in memory of an education advocate and longtime NEA member.
