Don’t Let Students Go Hungry

Hunger will increase unless Congress reverses devastating cuts to America’s most successful anti-poverty program.

Take Action

Reverse Harmful SNAP Cuts

Across the country, families are suffering due to the Republican-led budget bill, which slashed SNAP by 20%.

This leaves millions of children, senior citizens, veterans, workers, and people with disabilities without the benefits that help put food on the table, and even impacts programs that help provide free, healthy meals to public school students.

The drastic cuts to SNAP will leave many schools unable to continue providing healthy, free school meals to all students.

Children who are hungry can’t focus, learn, or thrive at school. Congress needs to restore funding to the programs that help all students have the support they need—not give tax handouts to the wealthiest Americans.

Join NEA and educators in your community to demand better for our kids. Tell your Members of Congress to restore SNAP benefits and protect children and families from going hungry.
