Facing Hate and Bias at School

Students have a right to a safe, welcoming, and affirming learning environment in a school that values them – their race, their religion, their sexual orientation and gender. I will take action to make school a positive place for everyone – where we are all respected.

When I see hate and bias I will:

Name It by …. Calling out the behavior that occurred. Ex: I just heard you say _______

Claim It by… Stating how that behavior made me feel. Ex: That kind of language offends me.

Stop It by… Preventing the behavior from being repeated. Ex: I don’t want to hear that kind of language again.
