Freeze Funding for ICE

In the wake of horrific shootings and the federal occupation in Minneapolis, Congress must pause and reassess funding for ICE and the Department of Homeland Security

Take Action

Tell Congress: Pull the DHS bill from the appropriations package now.

The ongoing deployment of federal agents throughout the country has included thousands of arrests, aggressive confrontations with civilians, and racial profiling.

Schools, medical facilities, places of worship, and other community spaces have been invaded.

Over the last year, ICE and USBP have taken more than 325,000 people; at least 24 of them suffered gunshot wounds, resulting in seven fatalities.

Rather than rushing forward a bill that funds ICE and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) as part of a larger appropriations package, Congressional Republicans should pull the DHS bill and allow for meaningful debate and accountability.

Advancing this DHS bill at this moment sends a clear signal that political convenience is being prioritized over safety and community trust.

It shuts down honest conversations about what keeps our communities safe and sidesteps scrutiny of policies that undermine civil rights while failing to address the root causes of this problem.

The DHS bill must be pulled from the appropriations package immediately and considered separately. Anything less is a failure to respect the lives affected, the educators serving on the front lines, and the communities demanding real solutions.
