Email Gov. Lujan Grisham and the state legislature
Right now, states need to decide if they want to take part in President Trump’s national voucher program.
Public money belongs in our public schools, which 87 percent of school-aged children in New Mexico attend. The federal voucher program will siphon money to private programs that are neither transparent, accountable, nor open to all families.
The federal voucher program will harm New Mexico students and schools. It incentivizes privatization and will drain federal revenue at a time when Title I and IDEA are already underfunded.
Please write Gov. Lujan Grisham and the state legislature and tell them to keep vouchers out of New Mexico.
