Provide Healthy School Meals to All Students

Students can’t learn if their stomachs are grumbling. Universal school meals are proven to reduce child hunger.

Take Action

Email your senators and representative and ask them to co-sponsor and support the Universal School Meals Act.

In response to the pandemic, USDA gave schools flexibility to serve free meals to all students, which essentially created a universal free school meals program — and it worked. Student hunger dropped dramatically.

Now, more kids are going hungry as those benefits were eliminated, Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits is being cut, and food costs continue to rise.

So many students fall through the cracks of current programs — either because they don’t qualify or their parents are intimidated by mountains of paperwork.

We can fix this by providing healthy school meals to all students at no cost to them, ensuring that they are hunger-free and ready to learn.
