Reject the House’s budget bill that will harm students and working-families
Over the long term, it is counterproductive to pay for tax cuts for the wealthy and corporations by slashing investments in our students—America’s future leaders and workforce. Yet that is just what this budget does.
The consequences will be severe, especially in rural communities where public schools are also economic centers.
Support for vulnerable students would wither while a tax-credit voucher scheme diverts $20 billion from public to private and religious schools. Higher education would become less affordable and accessible. Millions of students could lose access to health care and nourishing food, including school meals.
Urge your Senators to reject these drastic policies that will devastate students and working class families.
