Take Action

Urge your elected representatives to support President Biden’s supplemental domestic spending request.

President Biden’s supplemental domestic funding request would provide $16 billion to avert a devastating decrease in childcare providers when support provided by the American Rescue Plan Act ends. Without this support, more than 3 million children could lose access to daycare. Even before the pandemic, families struggled to find care and even with relief dollars, the childcare industry has lost nearly 41,000 jobs. Without the $16 billion requested by President Biden, the childcare industry will be worse off than it was before the pandemic.

The biggest part of President Biden’s funding request is $23.5 billion to address the growing number of disasters, with $405 million specifically for schools. The United States had 23 billion-dollar weather and climate disasters in the first 8 months of 2023, the largest number since records began.

The request also includes $6 billion to continue the FCC’s Affordable Connectivity Program, which provides free or discounted high-speed internet to low-income households.

Email your elected officials and urge them to support President Biden’s supplemental domestic spending request.
