Our "How to Fight Back on Immigrant Rights" series is back. In these series we highlight members and staff from NEA Affiliates around the country doing the important work of fighting back for immigrant rights. You can learn from their on the ground organizing tactics and techniques, and then stick around for help and brainstorming about how to begin or continue developing your own local campaigns for immigrant rights.
Meet with members of the Minneapolis Federation of Educators and parents involved Minnesota's response to ICE. They'll discuss their experiences moving the union, schools, and families into action for community safety, mutual aid, legal support and more. We'll dig into some details like setting up a school hotline, mental health in the crisis, fundraising challenges, digital security, winning over school administration and more.
