NEA Resolutions

NEA has adopted resolutions related to the 10 goal areas of NEA’s constitution. The resolutions convey the consensus of NEA members for all of the positions that the Association may take on education and social justice issues. This page is available year-round for submissions and questions from NEA members about NEA Resolutions. It is not intended for official business submissions by delegates to the Annual Meeting and Representative Assembly.

What Is an NEA Resolution?

NEA Resolutions are formal expressions of opinion, intent, belief, or position of the Association. Resolutions set forth general concepts in clear, concise language. They are intended to be broad in nature, stating the wide-ranging positions of the Association positively and without ambiguity.

Resolutions are not action-oriented, and are not specifically funded by NEA. However, no Association activity is funded if it is inconsistent with any resolution. NEA resolutions are implemented through activities in the budget adopted by the NEA Representative Assembly.

What Are the Ten NEA Goal Areas?
