This back to school season, the NEA asked educators to send notes to their future selves for whenever they need a boost during the year. Hundreds of teachers and Education Support Professionals responded with words of encouragement and praise for the amazing work they are doing each day. From reminders to take a deep breath to acknowledgments of the impact educators are having on their students each day, here are some of their words of encouragement.

“You make a difference even on the days you feel like you have so little to give.” – Kristen Sellix, New Jersey

“You were born for greatness. Stressed? Remember your goal to create a united, diverse community at ultimately superintendent level! You got this! Your history says overcomer! One day at a time!” – Michelle Geaghan, Maine

“You are not just in this FOR your students - you benefit from them as well. Stay focused on what matters and tune out the noise. It is literally just noise.” – Jennifer Voigt, Wisconsin

“Take a breath! Don't be so hard on yourself! You've got this! Think of one thing that went right today. Even small victories can make lasting change with time!”  Margo Sandahl, Connecticut

“You got this! You are enough! Just because your classroom is not Pinterest worthy does not mean you are a bad teacher.” – Danielle D’Adamo, New Jersey

“Kids lives are being changed every time you don't give up. Teachers are learning and you are helping grow a community of people who change the world. People with disabilities have an advocate in their corner every day you show up. You are right where you are meant to be. Yes, it's hard and even scary sometimes, but you have the skills and the strength to do this well. Take care of yourself so that you can keep going.” – Sarah Nusser, Washington
