Amanda began her career working on publications for the American Association of Museums, where she honed her ability to marry design and editorial into complete reader experiences. Amanda brought her unique perspective to NEA's main membership magazine in the mid-2000s, writing stories on topics from engaging hard-to-reach parents to dressing for success on your first teaching job. Along the way, she served as editor of NEA's magazine for Aspiring Educators for several years, before moving into the realm of federal and state education legislation.
Today, Amanda writes mainly about elections, legislation, and the amazing advocacy of NEA members, focusing on school funding, gun violence, environmental justice, and civics education.
