Dr. Shawn Ginwright

Dr. Shawn Ginwright (see video here) is one of the nation’s leading innovators, provocateurs, and thought leaders on urban youth as well as youth activism and development. Dr. Ginwright, who is a professor at San Francisco State University, also heads up the Flourish Agenda, Inc., a national nonprofit consulting firm. The Flourish Agenda’s mission is to design strategies that unlock the power of healing and engage youth of color and adult allies in transforming their schools and communities. He discusses how we, as educators, can use his Four Pivots framework to reimagine justice and ourselves. Request his toolkit so you can use his strategies to continue the work of transforming our public schools to serve all students. As you fill out the electronic request form, please add “- NEA2022” after the name of your state affiliate or local so that Dr. Ginwright and his colleagues know you are affiliated with NEA.
