Vouchers

Tell Congress to repeal the national tax-credit voucher program set to launch on January 1, 2027.

Child Nutrition

Hunger will increase unless Congress reverses devastating cuts to America’s most successful anti-poverty program.

ESPs

Education Support Professionals play a vital role in the lives of students. From clerical workers, to food service workers, to custodial and maintenance workers and paraeducators—they work hand-in-hand with teachers to cultivate student success. Ask your senators and representative to cosponsor this suite of bills to improve their circumstances.

Immigration

The Protecting Sensitive Locations Act will make sacred spaces of care and connection, such as schools, off-limits to ICE and other federal agencies.

LGBTQ+ Rights

A good education inspires a passion for learning through reading a variety of perspectives. Congress is not a national school board and shouldn’t interfere with that.

Education Funding

The House Labor-HHS-Education appropriations bill for fiscal year 2027 slashes education funding by 10 percent.

Special Education

The Keep Our Pact Act (S. 343/H.R. 869) would create a mandatory 10-year path to fully funding both the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and Title I of the Every Student Succeeds Act—critical programs for the students most in need.

Department of Education

The Trump administration is shifting certain Department of Education offices and their associated programs to other federal agencies—an unprecedented and illegal move that could disrupt funding to states and school districts. It could also result in layoffs, gut learning opportunities, reduce special education services and resources, and increase barriers to post-secondary education.

Federal Education Association

The Senate must follow the House in passing the bipartisan Protect America’s Work Force Act (H.R. 2550/S.2837) that would restore collective bargaining to federal workers whose rights President Trump took away.

Higher Education

H.R. 1 imposed unjustified and arbitrary student loan caps that favor certain “professional degrees” while devaluing educators, including higher education faculty who often require advanced degrees for their careers.

Voting Rights

The politicians who want to steal our right to vote are continuing their quest to throw up barriers that make it tough for us to register and cast our ballots. The SAVE America Act (S. 1383) is another attempt to disenfranchise millions of Americans.

Community Schools

Many students come to school weighed down by worries, unmet needs, and other challenges that even adults struggle to manage. Full-service community schools address these issues by transforming traditional public schools into hubs that mobilize educators, families, and community groups to work as partners.

Aspiring Educators

Working families do their best to save for college, but these days, many must take out federal student loans to help. Income-driven repayment (IDR) plans enable borrowers to pay down their loan balances without robbing Peter to pay Paul.

OMB

The Trump administration’s Office of Management and Budget (OMB) is proposing to give political appointees greater influence over decisions about which schools, colleges, and community organizations receive federal funding. Urge OMB to withdraw this proposal and preserve a fair, transparent, and student-centered grant system.
