Ready, Set, Read Across America! Now's the time to plan for NEA’s Read Across America Day in March and get involved in year-round reading fun in your community.
When people make the time to read with children, children get the message that reading is important. Make the read aloud experience a great one for you and for your listeners!
Stories are at the heart of Read Across America. Use these resources to help create space for storytelling of all kinds to be shared out loud, from oral history to personal stories to spoken-word poetry.
These books also change mindsets and help children develop empathy. It allows them to get to know and get along with many different kinds of children and to recognize the beauty of what we all bring to class.
Are you a teacher, librarian, educator, author, or devoted book worm? Join the Read Across America Facebook group to share resources, ideas, and experiences as we celebrate a nation of diverse readers.
